Program Overview:
Whether you are new to the MDS assessment process or if you do not actively participate in the assessment process on a day-today basis, this session offers an opportunity to obtain a stronger understanding of the importance of accuracy in the MDS process.

Because data in the MDS impacts so many aspects of the long-term care facility, it is important for all staff to have a clear, concise understanding of how this instrument impacts the function of the facility.

Objectives include:

• Understanding how the MDS impacts the long-term care facility
• Understanding the financial, quality measures, and survey aspects of the assessment tool in long-term care
• Identify barriers to accurately code the MDS
